German to English translations [PRO]
Medical
German term or phrase: Material Properties
No term in particular right now; however, I need to translate quite a few terms in the field of Material Properties into English. Examples: Stauchgrenze, Lochleibungsfestigkeit, Lochleibungs-(Dehn-)grenze, Tangentenmodul usw.
Question: where would I find a reliable glossary German > English?
Thank you.

English translation:Some Web references...
Explanation:
Standard engineering dictionaries, such as Ernst and DeVries-Herrmann, will of course contain some but not all of your terms, and some but not all combinations, and they generally lack definitions or clarifications

Here are some Web references that might be useful (or not):

Dictionary/glossary list/links:
http://www.onelook.com/browse.shtml
http://www.yourdictionary.com/languages/germanic.html
http://www.dictionary.com/

Macrothesaurus:

Steel information:

http://www.droesser.de/lexikon/d/welcome.html
http://www.droesser.de/lexikon/d/druckversuch.html

Steel glossary:

A facility for building online dictionaries (haven’t tried it myself):
http://www.babylon.com/builder/index.html

Reference materials for physicists:

Boolean searches (which I have very little experience with) can cast too wide a net. For instance, an AltaVista (any language) advanced (Boolean) search --
materials OR werkstoffe AND lexikon OR lexicon OR glossar OR glossary OR dictionary OR wörterbuch AND properties OR eigenschaften -- obviously drove the search engine crazy and yielded “about 18,595,264 pages foun". A more intelligent query could obviously narrow the field.

If submitting individual terms to KudoZ, please always include enough general AND specific context (e.g., the entire sentence verbatim) to help your would-be helpers give you better results in less time.

Thank you very much, Tom.
I also found a fairly reasonable way to have translated some of the terms found via AltaVista.
