Medical studies at a German university are divided into the following portions:

Vorklinischer Abschnitt (4 semester)
Erster klinischer Abschnitt (2 sem.)
Zweiter klinischer Abschnitt (4 semester)
Dritter klinischer Abschnitt ( praktisches Jahr)

The different sections are also referred to as M1, M2, M3)
Dritter Klinischer Studienabschnitt (Praktisches Jahr)

Während der Ausbildung im Praktischen Jahr, in deren Mittelpunkt die Ausbildung am Krankenbett steht, sollen die Studierenden die während des vorhergehenden Studiums erworbenen Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten vertiefen und

In other words, the student who has completed the third portion/segment has done it all! He has to take one oral exam after completion of his practical year.

I would translate it as *portion*, as in the following URL:
The final portion of clinical training is completed after ... for medical students. ... from
the medical education carry ... School Curriculum Schedule. ...

This means taking the exam in April when a good portion of Physics 25,26 will not have been covered.This is ... How To Choose A Medical School. ...

Personally. I see no harm in calling it “Part Three,” if that sounds more natural to you.
