English translation:NOC
Explanation:
Not otherwise classified or Unlisted (NOC) Codes
It is recognized that there may be services or procedures performed by physicians that are not described in CPT and/or HCPCS. Therefore, a number of specific code numbers have been designated for reporting Unlisted or Not Otherwise Classified (NOC) procedures. Each of these Unlisted or NOC procedural code numbers relates to a specific section in the code book and is presented in detail in the Guidelines of that section. Please review the CPT or HCPCS
thoroughly to make sure there is not a valid procedure code or combination of valid procedure codes before selecting and assigning a NOC or Unlisted code. Some examples of NOC or
Unlisted codes are: 21499 – unlisted musculoskeletal procedure-head, 64999 – unlisted nervous system, and J7799 – NOC drugs, other than inhalation drugs, administered through durable
medical equipment.
