Medical - Medical (general) / phys. therapy
German term or phrase: Querbettsitzen
Part of physical therapy.

Weiterführung der Mobilisierungstherapie des Kniegelenks in der Motorschiene. Weiterführung des Querbettsitzens.

Is there a decent translation of this short of saying "sitting on the edge of the bed?":-)

sitting sideways on the bed
Explanation:
Just a guess, but for knee therapy, you would sit on the bed sideways and let your leg dangle from the knee downward.

Just "sitting on the bed" would not cut it as you can sit without your legs hanging over the side. I suppose even this might not be descriptive enough for some people, though.

How I would phrase it in the USA.
