Medical - Medical: Instruments / Bipolar Irrigation Forceps
German term or phrase: Fassläche
"Die Spülöffnung befindet sich direkt auf der Fassläche"

From a brochure about bipolar irrigation forceps. This part of the brochure is specifically describing the "Pinzettenspitzen" (tips of the forceps, I guess). I have absolutely no idea what a Fassläche is, and no dictionary has ever heard of it, and there is not one single hit for it on Google. TIA for any light you can shed on this bizarre and highly obscure word.

Based on further Google research, I think "gripping surface" is best here. So thanks for that Heather, and thanks also to those who contributed discussion entries - including palilula. :-) Appreciate everyone's help.
