ATTENTION: this word is Swiss German

middle transom
Explanation:
The (Swiss)Germman word is 'questionable'.
A Brüstung is usually a parapet, balustrade, breastwork, etc.
A Kämpfer is the horizontal rail in a window or *above* a door, e.g. between the toplight and the door. These are also known as transoms / transomes.

From your additional description, I believe that the middle transom of the door is meant.
