German to English translations [PRO]
German term or phrase: Bildschirmausgabe / Massenspeicher
Both terms appear in marketing material for a company offering IT solutions.
Das Prinzip (des Produkts) basiert auf der grundlegenden physikalishen Trennung von Daten, Applications und Bildschirmausgabe.
Das Produkt besitzt weder Massenspeicher noch Diskettenlaufwek.

English translation:maybe screen display ?, mass storage
Explanation:
Reading your sentence above, I'm not entirely sure that I'd choose "soft copy" for Bildschirmausgabe. The term soft copy is also mentioned in Schulze, Computer-English (May 2000). Schulze also lists "terminal output".
Leipzig is correct in noting that it's literally output to the screen, and reading your sentence, I think you need to stress that.
If you can be somewhat liberal in your translation, then I'd suggest screen display or terminal [screen] [monitor] output.
An old DOS-based database program I still have (but no longer use) has a command "output screen" and one "output printer", and you had to set the output to the screen before you could see what the darned thing was doing.
Massenspeicher, as a piece of hardware, is generally translated as mass storage or bulk storage (Brinkmann, WB Daten- und Kommunikationstechnik)

Explanation:
According to Ferreti's Dictionary of Computing, Bildschirmausgabe can be rendered as 'soft copy' (opposed to hard copy or printout), literally output on a screen/monitor. For Massenspeicher he offers: mass memory, bulk memory, bulk storage, storage memormy; mass storage. Hope this helps!
