German to English translations [Non-PRO]
German term or phrase: abdecken
Regelmaessige Folienwickel bringen umfangreiche Oberschenkel in eine schoenere, schlankere Form. Den Koerper vorher in einem heissen Vollbad aufwaermen, dann gut abtrocknen. Ein grosses Tuch in einen Eimer mit heissem Wasser tauchen, auswringen und um die Oberschenkel wickeln. Dann gut mit Folie abdecken und eine halbe Stunde lang einwirken lassen.

Abdecken can mean to cover and to uncover. So what about abdecken here?
I'm also confused with 'vorher'. What should be done before what?
Thanks a lot.

English translation:cover
Explanation:
From the `instructions' it sounds as though the idea is to cover the cloth /upper thigh completely with foil.
I would translate vorher in this context as `first', as in `first, bathe and towel-dry completely' or some such formulation.
Good luck
