fill the earth and subdue it Explanation: Yes, it is a quotation from Genesis of which there exists only one version in any language. There is no other proverbial meaning except that i see some cynisism in it's connection with the 'enlightened man or mankind'. Meant or not, that cynisism carries over nicely.
