Zillmer method of calculating modified life insurance reserves

"Zillmerung" or the verb "zillmern" was named after Dr. Zillmer, a German life insurance actuary.
I found the term in his English biography (see URL). Eva

According to Witherby's insurance dic.it is 'a process whereby in an actuarial valuation some acquisition costs of long-term business are not amortised but are set against mathematical reserves'. in this dic. it is written 'zillmerisation' but i am assuming you are writing from the States so would use 'z'.

only a paper book, I'm afraid! Witherby's Dictionary of Insurance has just been published again.
