RO-LA / Truck-rail Roll-on/Roll-off
Explanation:
Literally:

rolling highway = combined railway-road transport

Truck-ship Roll-on/Rol-off = RO-RO

Truck-rail Roll-on/Roll-off = RO-LA

Abbreviation RO-LA is widely used on the net.

000922 Loading of a "Rolling Highway" (Rollende Landstrasse in German or RoLa for short) intermodal train at Brennersee, Austria. These intermodal trains carry tractor-trailer combinations from the Austro-Italian border to a suburb of Munich, allowing the drivers to take a break. The drivers travel in special passenger car on the train that includes vending machines and other amenities.

In our traffic with Italy we are working with two different partners and 4 hubs. The traffic is normally a conventional road service. By the passage through Austria, the piggyback service of the”Rollende Landstrasse” is often used..

"Rollende Landstraße" Transit Train

Explanation:
A Rollende Landstraße is a freight train which transport trucks in a piggy-back fashion.

I found above term in:
www.railroadtrain.com/2001_items/marklin_new_3.htm

Yes,I know, this is about model trains, but I think that the manufacturers, Märklin, know their trains.

You are welcome to laugh! :-))

Can't help regarding any dictionaries/websites, sorry.

Trucks on Rails or similar

Explanation:
I found a clear explanation for "rollende Landstrasse" here:

http://www.voev.ch/politik/verkehr/gueter/kombinie.html

This includes the definition:
"Eine spezielle Unterart davon ist die sog. "Rollende Landstrasse", wo ganze Lastwagen und Sattelschlepper auf der Bahn transportiert werden. "

I.e. the whole truck is transported on a train. I don't know if there is an equivalent in English at the moment but I would probably use something like:

"Trucks on Rails".
