"Apfelschorle", as everyone knows, is a mixture of apple juice and mineral water. The proportion depends on the mixer or bottler. Usually it is 50 to 60% apple juice and 40 to 50% mineral water. Often it is not translated, even on English web sites, but the sites are usually German oriented. The only English name I have been able to find is "apple-mix" but I had never heard that before, so I do not know if the readers of a web site all over the world will know what it means. Does everyone but me know "apple-mix" or do you know another name that will be understood everywhere?

Although "apple juice spritzer" is a bit long for my taste, (Ha! Ha!) I have decided to go with that to make sure nobody thinks there is "Apfelwein" or any other wine in it. Also Dierk should get the points for his two good references anyway. I like the stuff too. Thanx, Dan

I like apple spritzer, and I agree, it's good stuff! I have on occasion heard it called apple cider, too. I guess that some people just lack imagination.

Explanation:
In my part of the states one finds on the shelves a variety of what are called fruit juice drinks (apple juice drink, grape juice drink, etc.). These are a mixture of fruit juice, sugar, and(non-carbonated)water. Spritzer, I believe, generally refers to a beverage made by adding carbonated water to either wine or juice. There are also "Sparkling apple/grape/cherry juices" on the market. HTH, Beth.
