German to English translations [Non-PRO]
German term or phrase: as far as ever (sent. construction)
I'm wondering whether the construction of this sentence is correct:
"the structural problems caused by mass immigration are as far as ever from being solved"?

English translation:a bit clumsy
Explanation:
It might be clearer to say,"are now just as far from being solved as they ever were"

or

"no nearer to being solved than they ever were"

On reflection, I think the second one sounds better.

Explanation:
I'd say Yes!

I assume you want it in German:
Die Strukturprobleme, die von der Masseneinwanderung verursacht sind, sind so weit von einer Lösung wie noch nie.
