Lichtenstein, Sachsen Explanation: It could be a misspelling of the German "Liechtenstein," which is spelled the same way in English, but the Northern Light search engine revealed 50,000+ hits for this spelling. Many were for the last name Lichtenstein, but many, like the URL below, showed Lichtenstein castle, which is in Lichtenstein, Germany. A really helful website when in doubt is http://www.entry.de/index. It's basically a list of www servers in Germany, but if you type in a name it will show if there are any matching hits for that location and show you on the map where it is. I find it helpful when dealing with poor copies of certificates where the name of a person's birthplace is illegible.
