Standesamt - Einwohnermeldeamt
Einwohnermeldeamt = registration office or registry office
Standesamt = registry office or marriage license office.

I need to difference these two words, but in my case Standesamt deals with birth certificate, so I think it would not be right to write the word marriage license office. Which two words may I use? Perhaps there is not the difference as we have in Germany, but I need to describe the German situation, mixed with funny misunderstandings. Thanks for help.
