This is from a Process Standard Offset guide, and I have no more context than that the chapter on "Fortdruckspezifische Prüfmedien" gives the Drucker-Hauskontrollkeil, Standardkontrollkeil, CMYK Volltonfarbstreifen, XXX-Hausfarben Volltonfarbstreifen, Prüfkeil der Graubalance, etc., each with the corresponding wedge/chart.

A couple of ProZ entries tell me that Volltonfarbe is "spot colour", but to be quite honest that didn't mean much to me (this is what happens when you agree to take on a job on something you're not familiar with!). I now read on one website that "A spot colour is a specially mixed ink that is applied on the printing press, as opposed to a mix of the four inks which make up process printing". Well that makes sense, but now I don't know how I can have a CMYK spot colour chart, as that would seem to be a contradiction. Is the German "Volltonfarbe" not as precise as the English "spot colour", or have I misunderstood something?

The usage of 'Volltonfarbe' does appear to be rather unconventional here. Presumably what is meant is individual strips/stripes of the four process colours at the maximum tone level ('solid tone' or 'solid colour).

Many thanks, also to BirgitBerlin. I ended up just calling the colour bar a "CMYK colour strip", as there was a tiny bit of information below it, where I was able to get the bit about solid-tone colour in.
