German term or phrase: verschieden
does verschieden just mean 'different' here, or is there a sense in which the past tense of 'verscheiden' can be used here?

Ausfällung aus Lösungen, insbes. aus solchen, die durch Eluierung im Ionenaustauschverfahren von aus der Naßbehandlung verschiedener Erze u pyritischer Produkte, z.B. die Röstabbrände von pyritischen schwefel- u. chlorhaltigen Erzen stammenden Laugen u. aus den Lösungen, die bei der Zurückhaltung von flüchtigen Chloriden (...) gewonnen wurden

is there something missing from the above or am I misinterpreting it?

English translation:Syntax explanation
Explanation:
I would add some brackets to see the sentence structure more clearly:

As a consequence, before "und aus den Lösungen" should be a comma ...

So, I would say nothing is missing, just a comma.

verschiedene Erze - definitely different ores

Thanks for rearranging the sentence - much easier to understand that way! It was the "von aus" that threw me off - I thought of interpreting it as the past participle of verscheiden (even though it doesn't make sense) just because I couldn't work it out.

various

Explanation:
I would translate "verschieden" with "various", apart from that, the word "Ausfällung" is of no meaning to me here, it kind of screws up the whole sentence a bit. Ausfälle I could go along with, it means something like excess...

various

Explanation:
Hi, Lawrence! Thanks for answering my "Finnish" question the other day (that you said was Swedish).

As far as I understand the sentence, "verschieden" quite clearly means "various" here. I don't think it is intended as the past tense of "verscheiden", as I think the sentence would in that case be structured differently.
