German term or phrase: GUS
It refers to my previous question on "Volksdeutsche" and I think this may be a mistake.

"This is especially the case for people from the GUS and South-America"

Do they mean USA? Does GUS have any meaning in German?

Thanks robert and Steffen and others. As to Elvira and rokot, please tell me...under what languages were I to check in the glossary? And what term? If you check "GUS" from German to English, I think that you will find only my question (which did not exist when I looked). I do not understand German. Knowing the definition in German of GUS does not help me. Before shooting down an asker, please think of the situation he or she may be in. Perhaps the question is repeated. I thought it may have been a typo, and I certainly didn't think that, with the existence of such an obviously translation, the original translator would have left it in German. If you think my questions repetitive, please ignore them next time.
