German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering
German term or phrase: KWR and LG - MB
Technical terms (abbreviations) used in a document regarding a City Railway system - something an electrician would check (?)

English translation:See below
Explanation:
Thank you for your note!

A Web search in various combinations with other terms and in German or English or Any Language on AltaVista and on Northernlight yielded some tantalizing but contradictory morsels on the KWR side and nothing on the LG-MB side. ---
If I were you and still lacked an answer, I would be inclined on Monday morning to directly contact the company whose URL was the most germane to your questions: It listed both Federspeicher and KWR: --- VAG, Verkehrs AG Nürnberg --- and ask them directly what the abbreviations mean and how they might translate into English: VAG Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft Nürnberg -- http://www.vag.de/hindex.htm ; or
http://www.vag.de/

Below are some of the URLs I came across, for what they’re worth:

http://www.seak.ch/Ftxt_gtw_text3.htm

KWR - Konstruktion Fahrpläne; gibt es nicht mehr, da die Zentren zu weit auseinanderlagen (Warschau - Bittbotsch = 300 km)
http://www.gru.dbnet.de:32080/SITZ/98_1/PV_D.htm

Verkehrsdatenrecorder KWR 4
http://www.vag.de/technik/strassenbahn/triebwagenGT6N.htm

KWR Kraftübertragungswerke Rheinfelden http://www.twike.ch/deutsch/LEMnet/Liste_D.htm

Auf dem Dach eines Wasserkraftwerkes der Kraftübertragungswerke Rheinfelden AG (KWR) befindet sich eine Solarstromanlage mit einer Größe von 720 m2 und einer Leistung von 72 kWp.

If all else fails, translate the sentences and enter the abbreviatios "as is" with an appropriate footnore. Going back to the client with a question often resolves such issues.

All the best from Wild Wonderful West Virginia,

Tom

Thanks, Tom. Good explanation and research.
I'll check out the website - this may be a case where the orig. German abbreviation is the best bet, with a footnote as you suggested.

Vielen Dank nochmals!

...more context? (how about each of the sentences in full; would make it easier at our end!)

KWR could Kabelwerk Rheidt; less likely in your context: Kurzwellenring
