powder metalurgically pressed part Explanation: "Powder Metallurgy - or P/M - is a highly developed method of manufacturing reliable ferrous and nonferrous parts. Made by mixing elemental or alloy powders and compacting the mixture in a die, the resultant shapes are then sintered or heated in a controlled-atmosphere furnace to bond the particles metallurgically. Basically a "chipless" metalworking process, P/M typically uses more than 97% of the starting raw material in the finished part. Because of this, P/M is an energy and materials conserving process. about context Explanation: General note about helpful context: Your would-be helpers usually need and welcome helpful context. (A) the GENERAL CONTEXT (say ultralight aircraft vs. ultralight vehicles); ---- (B) all or most of the RELEVANT SENTENCE or short passage verbatim. ---- Sometimes it can also be important to know: (C) the GEOGRAPHY (source &/or target country), (D) the TARGET AUDIENCE (e.g., radiology manager vs. medical physicist) and/or (E) the PURPOSE of the communication (informational vs. motivational, humor or satire etc.) (F) Always take care, of course not to reveal PROPRIETARY / CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION, e.g. by disguising names, dates etc. Providing excellent context is usually well worth your while. It saves time at our end and improves your odds of getting a specific and valid answer. And it makes knowledge-sharing a more equitable undertaking. HTH in other queries Tom |
