Tech/Engineering
German term or phrase: Aufdampftechniken, Beschichtungstechniken, Strukturierungsverfahren
In a DE patent concerning manufacture of fiber optic modulators, the following terms appear when discussing the manufacture of various layers in the modulator:

Aufdampftechnik
Beschichtungstechniken (Schleudern, Tauchen)
Strukturierungsverfahren (Plasmaätzen, Ionenstrahlätzen)

Anyone have any ideas on "schleudern" and "Strukturierungsverfahren" in this context?

Tauchbeschichtung = dip coating
You’ll find a large number of hits for both these English terms

Strukturierungsverfahren
I’d suggest a term “structuring” or “structuring technique”, possibly "structure modification".
The information in this URL might be of particular interest in your context:

Also see the following URLs (among many available) that might be useful. The first one seems to be especially relevant as it discusses the various etching processes.
