cold insertion Explanation: A bit of a guess. The ref mentions 'insertion' for placing cover sheets and dividers in documents, so that seems to be OK, but what is 'cold insertion'? cold insertion Explanation: I can confirm that schiessen refers to insertion. see reference link below. But I'm not sure what the "kalt" refers to. Explanation: As the others said, as the URLs below indicate and as the name from your context clearly shows, the verb "insert" and the nouns "insertion / insert" are for sure right. The problem is still the "kalt" part. I could not find anything in the net or dictionaries for "Kaltzuschießen" or "Kaltzufuhr" either. One possibility would be that it means "kalt" in the sense that the booklets or magazines or brochures have already been completely finished and are essentially ready for distribution before the machine operator decides to insert some photocopies or other inserts, in contrast to the insertion being a step in the original printing sequence. Even if this is right, I have no better English terms than "subsequent insertion" or "to subsequently insert".
