Explanation:
I agree with previous answer. Further evidence is provided at first named website, where the unix 'ls' command is said to:
'Listet alle dateien im aktuellen Verzeichnis mit ihrem Namen an.'
An English language website, the second one named, tells us that the same command is for:
'listing file names'.
