zeitvariantenfeder

English translation: see detail

German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering
German term or phrase: zeitvariantenfeder
context: fatigue testing of roller bearings

continuation of paragraph from last 2 questions (gleichbleibender Weg and quasistatische Überprüfung):

"Ursache für dieses Verhalten dürfte sein, daß im Tellerfederpaket eingeschlossenes, verschäumtes Öl komprimiert wird und somit als zusätzliche zeitvariantenfeder wirkt. Reibeffekte können ausgeschlossen werden, da kein Phasenversatz zwischen der Weg - und Kraftkurve auftritt."

Is this just another way of saying time-variant?
And here's yet another occurrence of Weg ?!

Thanks very much for anyone who can offer help with this troublesome passage. TIA, Beth

Explanation:
'...that the enclosed, aereated oil becomes compressed and thus acts as an additional [or: supplementary], time-varying spring'

Wegkurve = displacement curve
Kraftkurve = force curve

(both of these are plotted on a graph during the test)
