German term or phrase: Stahlfussträger
Phew, several Qs from me today... This one is also bed technology. A waterbed rests on a pedestal ("Trägerpodest") and decking board but the frame also comes with this Stahlfussträger - a "steel base frame"? " steel leg support"? Help! COntext: "Das Kopfteil wird mit dem speziellen Stahlfussträger verschraubt"

English translation:steel bed frame
Explanation:
No references to back me up - just have purchased beds in the US any number of times. The headboards (and footboards) are screwed on to a steel bed frame which actually supports the box springs and mattress. There are feet or legs on this frame, but they are generally not attached separately from the frame to the head and footboards, but are generally welded onto the frame themselves.

Although in your first answer you were thinking about standard beds as you said, it still seems right I think! Pedestals seem to be more the wooden box things, and I think a "steel support frame" or bed frame fits here. Thansk for your thoughts!

Explanation:
I must apologize for looking at your question too quickly - my first answer related to conventional beds with box springs and mattress, not to waterbeds. Waterbeds do rest on pedestals. When these were first marketed I remember they rested on the pedestals directly on the floor. Today's waterbeds are not necessarily directly on the floor.
A visit to the following site might be helpful to you - they talk about waterbed pedestal frames.
