German term or phrase: Metrologie
Hi all,
Im translating a letter wishing some one a continualtion of their "angenehmen Menschlichen-und Metrologiebeziehungen". The problem is that a "metering relationship" doesnt sound right in a Christmas letter. Can you think of a better word for Metrologie? I can even find the word in De Vries. (Its a rush order and any brainstorming would be welcome.)

English translation:professional
Explanation:
>>pleasant personal and professional relationship(s)<<
The correspondents have both a personal and a professional relationship. (I would use the singular for the latter term, unless contexts suggests a reference to their respecive organizations as well). To specifically express the relationship in the context of metrology would be awkward in such a letter.

thanks,
Actually I have already sent it off.
I had toyed with exactly what you suggested, but decided in the end to go follow what the author wrote and used "measurement-science". It's not particularly elegant, but these guys are in the same club. Hey, you get what you give time for.
Parrot, thank you also for the brainstorming effort, however, the company in question here was a maker of scales. :-) (The effort is always more appreciated than no brainstorming at all.)
I appologize for all the typos in the query - my keyboard was set to German, and I can never find things like apostrophes on it -- for clarification, I could not find the word in De Vries and was rather suprized at that.

Explanation:
"anthropometrics" which has to do with the human (menschliche) measure: for ex., the proper distance between seats, size of an executive washroom (always subjective, individual or culturally-based). You might try exploring this idea.
