German term or phrase: Schuttelschalter
Schuttelschalter in Vorwärtsrichtung verdeckt die Kontrollleuchte vom linken Fahrtrichtungsanzeige.
This is talking about a tractor - does anyone know what a 'Schuttelschalter' is and what it means if it is 'in forwards direction'?

shaker switch
Explanation:
Shaker switch, vibrator switch

An AltaVista search provided a few clues but no straight answers. So some speculation may be in order. Call it brainstorming, if you will. The Schuttel (or Schüttel-?) prefix can be presumed to apply either to the switch (perhaps denoting a toggle switch or a loose switch) or, more likely, to machinery operated by the switch – machinery that uses a shaking or vibrating motion, such as a harvester/thrasher, forager or manure-spreader. _Vorwärtsrichtung_ can translate as forward direction regardless of whether it refers to the switch position or to the operated equipment.

toggle switch

Explanation:
Go to the reference site and have a look at the great images - is this what the text might be about?
As a kid growing up on a farm I remember seeing this type of switches on the control panels of our tractors, but whether that is what the German text means I don't know.
