German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering
German term or phrase:Micro-Stößelventil
This is a component in a pneumatic power pack used to power torque tools.
Explanation: In previous projects I have used Follower Rod, Pin, Push Rod, and Tappet for Stoessel, so, it could be something like a Micro-Tappet-Valve? Two words would be too long to flow, Pin would be to generic and short. Also, the reference URL below speaks in favor of that. I would really have to see the graphic with the part to be sure.
Explanation: This is only a word-for-word translation based on Pons-Schmidt Fachwörterbuch der Kfz-Technik. It would be good if you could wait to see if anybody knows anything better. Some rather bad answers have been acepted here at ProZ lately.
Explanation: I tend to agree with Dierk that micro-tappet-valve is not too far off the mark. But consider also "micro-poppet-valve". The term "poppet" is sufficiently vague to cover a range of terms, including the German word "Stößel". Hope I didn't confuse the issue any further. hth, wolfgang

Explanation: Thanks for your comments so far. I really should have mentioned first off that I know a Stößel can be a tappet, a pushrod and various other things. I'll hang on and see if anyone has seen this particular beast before. There *is* a picture, but all you see is the square metal housing around the thing.
