German term or phrase: Rückschluss
a telecommunications term
Jayne White
tracing back
Explanation:
Difficult without context, but this word seems to come up a lot in connection with data protection; e.g. expressions like "es gibt keinen Rückschluss" is used to indicate that calls cannot be traced back to the person who made them. Below is one example, so you can see what I mean. HTH!

Conclusion?

Explanation:
I'm sure you're aware of this translation of Rückschluss, but are you sure it wouldn't work in your context?
There are one or two telecommunications glossaries (well, I found a couple via xtranslation.com), but they don't have this term. Eurodicautom is no help on this occasion, either. Any telecommunications experts out there who could shed more light?
