I know this is getting boring, but the context is still that mesh belt conveyor furnace :
Bandausführung:
Werkstoff: 1.4841; seitliche Plättchen in gekröpfter Ausführung; Stärke 2mm; Drahtenden in Wicklungen eingewoben, jedes vierte Spiralende verschweißt.

What are gekröpfte seitliche Plättchen - actually I am having trouble with this whole darn thing!
If anyone can visualize this belt, I would greatly appreciate your help!!

goosenecked/cranked side strips
Explanation:
goosenecked side strips... interwoven spirals
every fourth spiral end welded

The above terms are from Muret Sanders/Ernst
A google search on mesh conveyor belt came up with an interesting site with photos of various mesh types used for belts, which might be helpful :
Audubon Universal Weave ....all purpose, high temperature.
Combines the best characteristics of all weaves. The spirals are interwoven, alternating right and left hand for straight running, and joined by crimped or straight rod connections. The equal and opposite stress forces in Universal Weave mesh belts make it true running for traction or positive drive. It has a remarkably smooth conveying surface.
good luck and happy belting...
