Tech/Engineering
German term or phrase: Luftzutaktung
almost done with my job on this continuous heat treatment furnace, but have two last questions
Question #1:
"Elektrik:
E-Anschlüsse der Motoren in gesteckter Ausführung für Turbos, Absaugung Fallschacht und Luftzutaktung."
Question #2: see separate question

English translation:metered air supply
Explanation:
basically the same idea as the previous two answers, but the term 'metered' is commonly used in engineering to refer to a controlled supply of something (limited on the supply side) even if the amount supplied is not actually measured

Thanks very much to everyone - I thought all the suggestions were good. I think metered works the best for this context, based on the explanation I finally got from the engineer, "[zur Regelung der Kohlenstoffpegel]...über ein Magnetventil wird Luft in die letzte Zone geleitet; dies erfolgt in kleinen Mengen, die über ein PID-Regler gesteuert werden."
Thanks again!

clocked air supply [control]

Explanation:
This is based on definitions of Luftzufuhr (air supply) and Takt/takten/getaktet (clocked [timing]).

10 hrs
timed air supply [control]

Explanation:
Concur with the above, but timed may fit better than clocked.
