German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering
German term or phrase:zeitversetztes Rüsten
"Zeitversetztes Rüsten mit einem Einsteller von Maschinenverbunden mit Teilepuffer."
This is within the framework of a project for increasing machine utilization and reducing setup time and involves using one setup operator and parts accumulators between interlinked machines such as ID grinders, OD grinders, inspection machines, honing machines, etc. The machines are to be set up in such a way that the line keeps moving and the machines in the line don't have to wait on parts for processing.
I am trying to think of a term to describe this type of arrangement, one that would be more self-explanatory than a literal translation.
One suggestion I have received is setup time management, or segmented/incremental setup.
Does anyone have any ideas?
