The 'Gerät' is a gas detection monitor. Can anyone help with the above phrase?

Also from Corenelsen, dokumentieren = demonstrate, document, record

So -- digitally recordable data memory (?) -- a bit redundant . Probably, it means that the device stores (measured) data in a form that can be further processed under Windows (i.e. using an application that runs under Windows) for purposes of documenting (or generating permanent records of) the measurements.
