My glossaries give me "load-factor method", but it doesn't quite seem to fit here.

load factor method
Explanation:
LOAD FACTOR METHOD

The load factor method involves increasing the nominal loads by a factor of safety. The structure is then designed to just ‘fail’ when the factored load is applied. This was the method commonly used for footing and pile design in Australia, UK and USA. The load factor method works well in situations where the safety is sensitive to the load. For example when wind uplift is nearly balanced by weight. For slopes in cohesionless material a factor applied to the weight of the materials will have no effect on the overall safety (Simpson et al 1981).

collapse design method

Explanation:
"load factor method" is very good.
Ernst does not list this term, but siome similar translations as:
(Bau, Stahlbau)
-plastic design or theory
-plasticity theory
-limit design
-ultimate load method

I gues your choice will depend on what fits best into the syntax of your context.

design load method

Explanation:
in engineering, a building or heavy equipment, etc., is designed according to a "building code". the total sum of all the specific material loads is the design load. a safety factor is built in.

design load method

Explanation:
just to add: other load factors are calculated in depending on location, e.g. other equipment used on or in the building, item, machinery or equipment, weather, whatever forces may be imposed from the "outside"
