abrasive blasting / abrasive sand blasting
Explanation:
1. Läppstrahlen: Strahlen der Oberfäche eines Werkstückes (reinigen) mit Quarzsand

2. Abrasive blasting
This is simply the projection of hard particles at the metal surface to be cleaned, at sufficient kinetic energy to damage and thereby clean the surface of the metal together with any surface films present removing any intact mill scale, rust and other corrosion product, soluble contaminants, and oil and grease. A second function of abrasive blasting is to produce a metal surface suitable for painting and this involves a rough surface with an adequate anchor pattern to allow the paint to key to the surface.

Much of the original development work was carried out by Shell who were involved in corrosion of their tanker fleet both externally and internally.

The kinetic energy is provided either by compressed air, or by mechanical means.

The particles

Typically the various particles used are, sand, iron slag, copper slag, chilled iron, malleable iron, steel and chopped wire.

3. ... Abrasive Sand Blasting
For those extreme conditions when all other cleaning an restoration methods have failed, Clean-Crete also offers high pressure hot water ...

might be x -raying of a lap of shot blasting a surface lap

Explanation:
Difficult to say without more context. However Laepp is a lap (a defect) in steel and other metals, which, if if it is internal can be found by x rays.
It might also be blasting a surface lap with shot in order to smooth or remove it.
