German term or phrase: Zahnkupplung: Verschlußschraube, Ölaustritt. Notfa
gear parts of an electric train or tram. When the screw doesn't close properly, oil emerges. Is there a nicer term than loss of oil, and is emergence of oil correct?
The "Notfang" is to make sure that in case the shaft should become loose, it doesn't drop to the ground. It is caught in the N. "Notfang" and "Notfang am Gehäuse" are listed separately in my text, so I suppose they are different things. Anyway, which of the 50 translations of Gehäuse would be used for a gear unit?

Explanation:
My suggestions for Zahnkupplung = gear coupling, Verschlussschraube = screw plug, Ölaustritt = oil leakage, Notfang = (safety) shaft catcher, Getriebegehäuse = gearbox housing. HTH wolfgang

Isn't a Gehäuse of a gear unit usually a gear box?
