German term or phrase: Energiekeule
In a patent on Stranggießverfahren, "so steigen mit größer werdender Gießgeschwindigkeit .. die Auslauftemperatur ... und damit die Kokillenhauttemperatur ... sowie die Energie unter der ENERGIEKEULE ... an."

Any suggestions for Energiekeule?

Thanks very much!

energy cone
Explanation:
This is a more or less educated guess. Some continuous casting moulds are "wide-end-up" (= umgekehrt konische Kokille).

That prompted me to look into a term such as "energy cone" (Kegel/Keule do have somewhat similar shapes). Turns out that "energy cone" is a term used in, e.g., pyroclastic modelling, or to describe the energy being emitted by a blast.

energy lobe

Explanation:
Uli's answer above is almost spot on but for the translation of "Keule". A Keule is a lobe. An energy lobe is a varying energy signal that slopes downward or upwards at different degrees.

My Woerterbuch der Physik gives "lobe" for Keule.

See link below for energy lobe and
