Explanation: They will hold your order or keep your order open/active in their system (in my experience they do this either indefinitely until the merchandise comes in, at which point the goods ship to you and amazon notifies you of that, or they hold the order for a predetermined time period. If the merchandise still hasn't come in at that point, they notify you that the order is being canceled).
