German to English translations [Non-PRO]
Tech/Engineering
German term or phrase: Kraftschluß/Formschluß
Dear Colleagues:

The following terms are in a DE patent concerning a drill bit for non-metallic materials:

"Die dadurch entstehende konishce Bohrung ermöglicht nach dem Eindrehen der Schraube einen erhöhten Kraft- und Formschluß."

Any ideas for Kraftschluß and
Formschluß?

Thanks,

Harold

This was the best response and I thank you very much for your help. I must say though, the other suggestion was close and, in some contexts, would also be good. Seems every patent has a different fit for Kraft- and Formschluß!

Best regards!
Harold

press fit, positive engagement

Explanation:
I work for a large manufacturer of bearings and engine components.
They call Kraftschluß press fit, or friction fit. For Formschluß the term they use is positive engagement.
