German term or phrase: Typenangabe im Teilestamm
The translation I'm looking for is an English translation of "Typenangabe im Teilestamm." Angabe is a listing or description of the types of printer parts, I guess. That's the trouble with lists of things, there isn't much to go on. The word "Stamm" I believe is similar to words such as species, genus, family in biology. But what do English speakers use to classify auto parts, etc.? I'm looking for a classification system.

Explanation:
Stamm in this case is short for Stammsatz = master file, it really has nothing to do with biology. Most likely the parts list you refer to is computerized in some sort of a database application, and it would contain master files for parts, customers, printers, etc. etc.

I am currently working on a project involving the updates to the SAP R/3 user interface, and one of the more frequently used terms is "Materialstamm" = material master [file].
Your phrase would translate as

type specifications [are listed / may be found] in the parts master [file]

or a similar construction. I would suppose that Typenangaben refers to the specifications for the printer types or the printer part types.
HTH!

P.S. Forgive my ignorance, but it was not clear in your first query what it was you were asking.

type designation in the parts master file / on the parts master list

Explanation:
This is my best guess on the basis of your information. Stammdatei is often best rendered as master file, Stammdaten as master data, etc. So the Typenangabe is apparently the way that the type (of part) is designated or specified in the parts master file (or on the parts master list, if that fits better). I hope this helps! - Randy
