German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Telecom(munications) / Commercial
German term or phrase:Auffangangebot
Ist die Information der Endkunden nicht spätestens 20 Werktage erfolgt, ist die Firma nach vorheriger Information des Vertragspartners berechtigt, die Endkunden zu informieren und ein Auffangangebot zu unterbreiten
The German is indeed defective. This is usually the problem with such so-called "rush-jobs". There were so many spelling mistakes which I have already corrected. But the structural changes is something impossible for me to decide. I ussually do not accept legal work, but this was a small part of a much larger technical document. Any ways! Let me contact my client and seek clarification. But that can come only tomorrow. In the meanwhile, thanks for all your help so far.
Thanks for that, Shekhar; but there still looks to some defect, even in the sentence you have added.
@Steffen: am I right, or just not with it today? Your "alternative" looks good to me, but the defective German (if it is) is bothering me.
No David, there is nothing missing, I have copied and pasted the sentence from the original text. Even I feel that the first part of the sentence is wrong. I will give the sentence before this one. Perhaps it can be of some help. I feel, this should mean "alternative offer" as Steffen has suggested, but am still not sure. Here is the previous sentence: "Der Vertragspartner nach einer durch die Firma oder den Vertragspartner ausgesprochenen Kündigung die Endkunden über die Beendigung des Vertragsverhältnisses und die sich hieraus für den Endkunden ergebenden Konsequenzen informieren. "
