Définition de la chose:
Seit etwa der Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts gebaute, ursprünglich auf einer Konsole stehende mittelgroße, federangetriebene Uhren. Ihr meist schlichtes Holzgehäuse ist fast immer vorne verglast, gelegentlich auch an den Seiten. Stockuhren besitzen regelmäßig Schlagwerk und häufig noch zusätzliche Indikationen. Sie waren für etwa zwei Jahrhunderte der meist verbreitete Uhrentyp, ihre Gehäuseform hat sich in dieser Zeit weniger als ihr Dekor geändert.

Stockuhr est synonyme de Stutzuhr, en anglais Bracket Clock, terme souvent apparenté aux "pendules religieuses" sur les sites spécialisés. Cela dit, "Bracket clock" n'est pas traduit sur ces sites...
