Necessito de auxílio para compreender "gegen" nos seguintes contextos:

"Schalttransistor, gegen Masse (NPN Typ) oder gegen Plus (PNP Typ) schaltend 3. ein analoges Signal (0..10Volt oder 4..20mA z.B.) ..."

ou

"Im Gegensatz zu den Open-Collector-Ausgangsvarianten PNP (= Last gegen 0V) und NPN (= Last gegen +Vs) erlaubt der Gegentaktausgang eine beliebige Beschaltung der Last innerhalb der Speisespannungsgrenzen."

ou mesmo:

"Als Ausgang betrieben ist die Last gegen 24V DC zu schalten.", que foi traduzido em inglês por "The load must be switched against 24V DC for operation as an output." -- AGAINST não faz sentido para mim.

Penso que signifique simplesmente que equipamento/parte eletrônica está ligado à voltagem X ou ao polo Y, confere? Grato de antemão!
