Gujarati term or phrase: Tenners (Dasa), Twentiers (Visa) Modh, Sorathias, Porvals, Osvals, Sonis
"The trader community of Kathiawad was divided in nine casts like Tenners (Dasa). Twentiers (Visa) Modh, Sorathias, Porvals, Osvals, Sonis (Jewellers)etc."

Do those cast have some meaning in English? Please help in translation. If someone can put it in Russian it is better. But English is also good. Thank you for your attention.

Explanation:
Hi Alex,

I would just use the Russian terms for "ten" and "twenty" here. Or better, an inflected version that comes closer to "tenner" and "twentier" if this is possible in Russian.

The rest of the names, I would just leave as they are. Except for the Sonis where I would add the Russian term for jewellers in the brackets.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot for "just russian terms" :-)
Frankly speaking I understood nothing from it but the fact those casts are somehow linked to Sanscrit numerical system. But what is the meaning of it? Or it is just historical coincidence? For my pity I don't have Hindi, Sanscrit, or Gujarati knowledge at my disposal but the terms were in English language text on Mahatma Gandhi. There they say that he was from Twentiers (Visa) Modh community of Gujarat.
Nevertheless thanks a lot for your help. It was just the only help for the question.
