Reference

Reference information:
Besides 'bhai' being used as a suffix for indicating respect for a male; as a member has noted, does have other uses such as being used for addressing one's father or the father's elder brother in some parts of Gujarat. It has to be on record that 'bhai' primarily means a brother. Though it may sound to be a misnomer, a goon or a local bully is referred(slang) to as being a 'bhai' [:)]
