Engineering technician, of course.

Or change 'aircraft' to 'aeronautical' if you are being paid by the character ...

Thank you. You are right. In this context it is a skill acquired during a military service. Therefore, engineering technician fits here.

disagree  Eynnat: An aeronautical engineer is an academic professional qualification; this one is well below that level.

Aircraft structural engineer

Explanation:
I think you're right there. See the courses below.
The only thing is that those experts are not always engineers,
but "structural repair man" or "repair guy" is both poor language AND sexist... :-) and even "structural repair person" doesnt cut it.

(aeronautics) structural engineer

Explanation:

It is clearly not an engineer, therefore the Morfix definition is not correct. The best definition would be Aeronautical engineering technician =
Performs technical tasks, normally under direction and supervision of aeronautical engineer, contributory to design, development, construction, maintenance and repair of aircraft.

disagree  Eynnat: In that case, it most certainly is not a structural engineer, which is an academic professional qualification.

agree  Lior Bar-On: Technically a decent translation. I would have just written aircraftsman, unless the client wanted to be really specific
