Hindi term or phrase: Ashko ki dariya mein dub rahe te hum
Ashko ki dariya mein dub rahe te hum,
haath bardakar, jaan hi dedi
Ab yeh kya ithafaaq hua
yaadon ki dariya mein jaan hi leli
David
I was drowning in a sea of tears,
Explanation:
ashkon = tears
ki = of
dariya = sea
mein = in
dub rahe the = was drowning
hum = I (literally "we")

The whole translation would read something as follows.

"I was drowning in a sea of tears,
You pulled me out, gave me my life.
And look at the irony -
The ocean of (your) memories has taken my life."

Poetic liberties have been taken. But that is expected of any literary piece, to bring out the best, while still keeping the meaning intact.

Hope this helps.
