A "durable medical equipment" közé tartoznak a hosszútávra szóló segédeszközök pl. vastüdő, oxigénsátor, kerekes szék, kórházi ágy stb.
Ha sérülések ellátásárol van szó, akkor inkább "surgical appliance", ami lehet rögzítő, haskötő stb.
