Hungarian term or phrase: -ig
Dear forum,

When I say:

2010-1-1-tol 2010-8-ig

does that include the whole month of august, or is the last day of the designated period July 31?

Thanks for your help!

Explanation:
Hi!
Depends. If you want to say "from 2010-01-01 to 2010-08" (e.g. documents in a folder), it includes the whole August. If you want to say "from 2010-01-01 till 2010-08" (e.g. a seasonal job), it most probably doesn't include August. But others are also often uncertain about it, so there might be inaccuracies. The best you can do is to always ask in a given situation :)

-> Yes I saw it, and I agree with you in that the original sentence is put quite awkwardly, because if we say ...-ig (until - sorry, I said till, biiig bad mistake:( ), it should be one definite time, not an interval like one month. (e.g. until 4PM is ok)
