Hungarian to English translations [Non-PRO]
Hungarian term or phrase: Szúkített ötödnyi távolság
From the Mikrokosmos of Béla Bartók
Tor P. Somlo
English translation:Interval of diminished fifth
Explanation:
távolság - distance, interval, etc.
ötöd - fifth (do-sol); also (or more often) called 'kvint' in Hungarian
szűkített (with double acute accent over u) - diminished

A diminished fifth is si-fa. I don't know Bartók's Hungarian but we said 'szűkített kvint' at school.
